Selling to European public buyers: TED, ESPD and CPV codes explained

Contracts above the EU thresholds are published in Tenders Electronic Daily (TED), the online supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union. Member states also run national portals for smaller contracts, so suppliers usually watch both.

Every notice is classified with Common Procurement Vocabulary (CPV) codes. Oil skimmers, membranes, treatment plants and laboratory equipment each fall under specific codes, and filtering by them is the fastest way to find relevant tenders.

Most procedures ask for the European Single Procurement Document (ESPD), a standard self-declaration on exclusion grounds and selection criteria. Bidders then provide technical documentation, references and, if they win, supporting certificates.

VDT Europa OÜ, registered in Estonia, responds to tenders across the EU with offers in English and prices in euro, and handles contracts, invoicing and warranty as a European company backed by the Davey Group's engineering and production.
